Recovery Happens When Habits Change

No one likes to change. I do not. I like my routines and habits. They define me.

However …. if troubling symptoms have emerged for you, then might I suggest that it is time to seriously consider evaluating habits that need to be changed.

  • Perhaps the food that you currently eat?
  • Perhaps the way you use your phone?
  • Perhaps your hesitation to detox?
  • Perhaps your hesitation to exercise?
  • Perhaps thoughts that are not in your best and highest good?
  • Perhaps the people you hang out with (or do not hang out with)?
  • Perhaps your addiction to watch the nightly or morning news which show mostly stories of pain and suffering?

You get the point. Think about at least one habit you might consider changing – even if it is to stop eating ice cream – that you know in your heart, mind and soul will help you feel better. Then … make it happen right now.

Q&A about the Aquas

Many Parkinsons Recovery members take the Aquas, the homeopathic remedy designed by Leonie Hibbert and Jaraslov Boublik PhD to support better hydration. Both of the creators of this marvelous remedy are Australians.

I asked Leonie Hibbert a series of questions about the Aquas. Even if you are taking the Aquas now, I suspect you will discover the answers Leonie offers during the Q&A to be informative.

The Q&A about Aquas is posted on the radio show page here on the member websites.

What is Happening This Week?

Mega Doses of Thiamine as a Therapy for Parkinson’s?

I have scheduled a Parkinsons Recovery Radio radio show interview with Italian doctor Costantini Antonio MD who promotes a novel treatment for Parkinson’s: mega doses of Thiamine (or Vitamin B1). The interview is scheduled for May 22nd. He does not speak English fluently, but one of his colleagues does who will be translating for him.

Do you have questions you would like me to ask him? Email me them and I will put them on the list.

Apparently, he has been getting surprisingly good results with his treatment protocol. We all now get to learn all about it.

Therapy for Vision Problems

I have recently received several reports from members who lost their driver’s license and independence alone with it. By way of supporting those of you who may be experiencing vision problems, I posted on the radio show page an interview about the causes of vision problems and a therapy research shows helps address them in most (but not all) cases. The interview is posted here on the member radio show page. To hear the interview click on the Radio Show Icon listed down the right column of this page.

Six New Promising Therapies

I presented an overview of six new, promising therapies which, in my opinion, are examples of the medicine of the future. They fall into three general categories: Light therapy, sound therapy and electromagnetic therapy.

Home Run Today

I have been interviewing guests on Parkinsons Recovery Radio since 2008. Many have discussed nutrition and diet and offered one suggestion or another specific to treatment of Parkinson’s disease. As the title of this post declares, I hit a home run today.

Why? My guest was Warren Kramer who discussed macrobiotics as a natural treatment for Parkinson’s. He offered rich insights into the foods that cause neurological havoc and the foods that heal it.

I am well aware that no one can listen to all of my 240 radio show interviews, but this one is a must. Devote 45 previous minutes today to hear the interview posted here on the Radio Show page (click on the Radio Show Icon found down the right hand column).

I promise. You will not regret it!

Focused Versus Laser Light Therapies as Treatments for Parkinson’s

I recently aired fascinating interviews on Parkinsons Recovery Radio about two different types of phtobiomodulation therapies (light therapies) as treatments for Parkinson’s symptoms. I believe light therapies are the medicine of the future, so I am hopeful some of you will try one of these options out so we can get an early reading on their effectiveness.
The purpose of this newsletter is to explain the difference between the two devices. One is offered by Vielight https://www.Vielight.com (discussed in my radio show October 4th); the other is offered by Erchonia https://www.erchonia.com (discussed in my radio show October 16th).How are the Two Light Therapy Devices Similar?

• Both offer the possibility (but certainly not the assurance) of
therapeutic benefit.
• Both are light (or photobiomodulation) therapies
• Both report no side effects
• Both report little research evidence for Parkinson’s
(though what exists is encouraging) ‘
• Both report more positive research evidence for reversal of dementia.

How Do They Differ?

Vielight’s Photobiomodulation Therapy

Vielight’s device is a low level LED diffuse light device invented by natural medicine doctor and engineer Dr. Lew Lim. It involves placing a helmet type apparatus on the head and a clip on the nose. The diffuse nature of LED light makes it difficult for the light to penetrate the skin. This is why Dr. Lim had the brilliant idea of inventing a nose apparatus so that the light need not have to transit through the skin. The invention is only a year old.

Designed for home use, it requires no doctor’s involvement or prescription and involves pushing one button to turn it on. Dr. Lim recommends persons with Parkinson’s symptoms use the device while going to sleep each night for 20 minutes each night.

Retail cost of the device is $1749. The company offered members of
my audience a 10% discount. To claim the discount, enter the coupon code healing4me on the Vielight shopping cart check out and the 10% discount will automatically be applied. www.vielight.com
I
f you decide to try the Vielight light therapy, the company offers a generous warranty. Use it for 6 months. If it does not provide the benefit expected, you can return the used device to the company for an 80% refund.

Erchonia’s Photobiomodulation Therapy

The Erchonia device also delivers light (as does Vielight) but using a low level laser technology. In other words, light is focused and directed rather than being diffuse as with the Vielight device. It is a medical device intended for use by medical professionals to treat their patients.

There are 10 different settings to this laser therapy and many ways of using it to product the best outcome. The doctor may for, example, suggest that you tap certain acupuncture points on your face or perform certain movements with arms while device is activated and functional.

Unlike the Vielight device, you do not just switch it on and run the therapy. The doctor decides the appropriate settings to be used given your symptoms and situation.

To locate a doctor who has been trained to use the Erchonia laser therapy, visit the Erchonia website (www.erchonia.com) and search for a practitioner in your area.

If after getting a series of treatments you decide to purchase a unit for home use, the cost is $10,900. If you tell the Erchonia agent that you are a member of the Parkinsons Recovery audience, you will qualify for a 10% discount which at least puts the cost under $10,000. It is still expensive, so best to work with a doctor first to see if it will be of benefit.

Four Techniques That Always Reduce Anxiety

Over the past 12 years my research has focused on discovering therapies that reduce symptoms of Parkinson’s disease. One theme has emerged. Getting stress and anxiety under control is the key to quieting symptoms.

Medications and supplements certainly can help some people. However, they take time to work, require prescriptions from doctors, have side effects and cost money. The questions I have been pursuing this year have been:

  • How can you reduce anxiety and stress without having to pay a cent or visit a doctor’s office?
  • How can you get relief from symptoms without relying on medications or supplements?

I have digested the extensive research about anxiety and extracted four techniques that get anxiety and stress under control every time. Research shows they are highly successful. I have simplified the techniques so you can put them into action starting now. Researchers make them unnecessarily complicated.

Four Techniques Download

Click on the link below to download the 12 page booklet that explains the four techniques in detail

Four Simple Techniques that Reduce Stress

Bottom Line: The Four Techniques:

  • Are simple to implement
  • Can be accessed anywhere, anytime in any situation.
  • Are free
  • Reduce anxiety
  • Calm stress
  • Help reduce the severity of symptoms

When you are stressed, no additional “hit” of medication or natural dopamine supplement is needed. Use any one of these four techniques when anxious. Celebrate a quieting of your symptoms.
